Working for a healthcare marketing agency, I was asked to interview Erin Murphy, PhD. The interview appeared in the Ohio University Medicine magazine.
At the time, Dr. Murphy was assistant professor of bacteriology in Ohio University’s Department of Biomedical Science.
I interviewed Dr. Murphy about the outbreak of a rare strain of meningitis on the campus, as well as the CDC’s involvement. Dr. Murphy was intrigued by the occurrence of the rare strain and continued her study of the biology even after the CDC left campus.
